About

Kansas made the eye. Hollywood sharpened it.

Marc Havener grew up in Kansas — thick salty summers, wet bone-cold winters, and the kind of place where feelings run deep but stay quiet. It turned out to be perfect training for a filmmaker: learning to see the extraordinary hidden in the seemingly mundane.

He spent the first decade of his career in Hollywood, working on more than twenty feature films — Pirates of the Caribbean, Wedding Crashers, Old School, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind — alongside Kevin Costner, George Clooney, Bruce Willis, and many others. He learned how the biggest stories in the world get made: shot by shot, decision by decision.

Then he brought it home. For over twenty years, Resonate Pictures has applied that craft to a different problem: helping brands that do good work say it in a way people actually feel. The studio has filmed across Africa, Europe, Central and South America — for Fortune 500s, nonprofits, presidents, and the business next door.

The through-line, from the first short film to the latest brand engagement: emotion drives behavior. Stories spark emotion. The rest is craft in service of that.

"When you hire an artist, you've hired them for their perspective. They will be mining for the specific moment that makes your message universal. Trust it."

What We Believe

Don't give them four.
Give them two plus two.

— I

Audiences aren't told. They witness.

Through narrative, people infer the message themselves. Beliefs we arrive at on our own are the only ones that change what we do.

— II

Editing is thinking.

The cut is where feeling gets engineered. From practical to poetry. From neutral to magnetized.

— III

Partner, not vendor.

We work with trailblazers and cultivators — brands doing good in the world. That's what it means to be a partner instead of a vendor: invested in their success, not just filling an order.

You've got stories.
We'll make them resonate.
